Today we finished up our bee exploration! We learned about the life cycle of a bee with new vocabulary such as “larva” and “pupa”. We discussed how bees work together and dance to communicate with each other. Counting honey combs ( while making beehives) and thumb prints (while making bees) was so much fun! The “Hickety Pickety Bumble Bee” song was the hit this week! Everybody got to participate by adding their name to the song each day! And boy, did we read a lot about these buzzing little bugs in books like Bee Dance, Horsefly & Honeybee, Happy Bees, and Inside A Beehive. We also added “bee” to our list of words we can do in sign language!
