Felicia Thomas

DIRECTOR

BA in Early Childhood Education

Teaching Certification K-8

I have over 16 years of experience working in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

My passion for children and their education is what drives me. My top priority is to ensure all children learn and achieve, to their greatest potential, in a safe environment.

My understanding of children’s development effectively guides me in creating and carrying out a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is focused on building a solid foundation of learning.

My leadership and strong communication skills translate to providing excellent customer service with the parents of the children in our care.

I am the mother of two boys who has gone through the Oakland school system.

My favorite part of being a teacher is….

Seeing the tremendous growth, both physically and mentally, in each child. They become wiser and more confident. It is truly amazing to watch them develop into smart, kind, and independent little people!

I want to give children…

The ability to view school as an adventure! It’s not simply learning to write, learning ABC’s, and counting. It’s tracing a path from a pirate to a secret treasure, feeding ABC fish to a hungry shark, and discovering how many legs a spider has! I hope each child leaves my classroom feeling excited about their education.
