WINTER WONDERLAND WEEK has been a blustery blast! We talked about what we look forward to this winter and how we will be prepared for it! We’ve already imagined and planned how we will dress our snowmen, have huge snowball fights with our families, and enjoy some cozy time by the fire with hot cocoa! In fact, we made our own “fireplace” for our toddler room. Here, we can read stories together and stay toasty warm!
We made winter wonderlands created with paint, Epsom salt, and glue. They looked like beautiful scenes from “Frozen”! Speaking of frozen, we also made snowflakes from Q-tips and our names in snow using marshmallows!
You could hear our brrrrillant voices belting out tunes like “Icy Toes” and “Frost”! We also spent a lot of time practicing our winter songs for our upcoming holiday show!
Books like “The Twelve Days of Winter”, “Snowmen At Night”, and “The Mitten” got us ready for and eagerly awaiting snow days and winter fun! We even had snow on Monday this week…how amazing was that!? The infants enjoyed the chilly sensory activity of feeling the snow and squishing it in their hands!
Our preschoolers found that a very special visitor had arrived…an Elf sent to us from Santa himself! We read “Elf On The Shelf” and learned all about these special little Santa helpers and found out that we could choose her name! So, we would like to introduce you to Peppermint! Our Pre K class now has a Santa cam that is up and running! Boy, have we been on our best behavior (and even occasionally wave to him as we pass by the camera!).
Lastly, our school Christmas tree is up! Each class made adorable ornaments to decorate the tree! It is truly beautiful and mostly because it was created by each and every one of us!
