Square One Kids Academy is a state licensed, full-service child care and education facility for children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age located in Oakland, NJ. We strive to be the first solid foundation for your child’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development. This will aid in long term success in education, personality development, and independence.

Our center is led by Felicia Thomas, who brings over 13 years of experience in child care and education and is a certified teacher. Her experience and training, combined with our innovative learning systems and a custom designed facility, allows us to offer a safe and a stimulating environment to encourage children’s desire to be life-long learners.

It is our belief that educational learning takes place through a partnership between families and our center, combined with the child’s interaction with his/her peers and independent play-time. We focus on introducing basic reading and classroom structure much earlier than most childcare centers in our area. We do this while keeping in mind that developmentally appropriate teaching scaffolds successful achievement of this goal for each individual child.

In our experience, most children desire to learn when it is presented in a fun, exciting, and nurturing way.
